A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and an ImClone Systems U.S. Attorney probe of training had a widely publicized criminal case as a result, along with prison terms for media celebrity Martha Steward, ImClone chief executive officer Samuel D. Waksal and Stewart’s broker Peter Bacanovic.

It’s not such a popular topic nowadays because when it happened back in 2004, it hardly seemed believable that something like that could happen. If it was something happening today, we would all be inclined to believe that it’s nothing more than a Jimmy Kimmel prank designed to generate YouTube views.

Stewart had to spend an awful amount of time making her comeback, but she was finally placed back on the board of directors of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in 2011. As we said, we can barely remember it now, but back in 2004 it triggered a lot of fuzz.
