Music legend Billy Joel mocked Madonna’s vocal capacities during his performance in NYC last Monday.
During the show, Joel got out a throat soothing spray which he then used as a practical joke about the pop queen’s alleged lip-syncing during her shows in the past.
“I saw Madonna use this once… it didn’t help her much,” said Joel on stage.
However, Joel’s not the first one to insult Madonna. In 2004 Elton John stated, “Madonna, best live act? F— off. Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot. Thank you very much. That’s me off her Christmas card list, but do I give a toss? No.”
In addition, Elton mocked Madonna’s performance and career another time when he stated, “If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like Ray of Light, stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and made great pop records, which she does brilliantly.
But no, she had to prove that she was like…,” he continued, not identifying. “And she looks like a f—ing fairground stripper.” Burn.
