“I always have the same New Year’s resolution: to speak French fluently,” she explained in an interview for the UK edition of Marie Claire. “I get a huge wave of nostalgia when I come into the Gare du Nord. There’s such an emphasis on culture, art and music… And I’ll do anything for a warm baguette.”

Her English parents were living in Paris, France, at the time when they welcomed their first child, Charlotte Duerre Watson. If you really want to know her roots, Emma’s paternal family are English, Scottish, French and German. Duerre is a Bavarian last name. She springs from the family of lawyers and academics. That’s why she’s so smart.
