4. Madonna And Sean Penn

Married from 1985-1989, there have long been rumors that Madonna just never quite got over him.

According to her official bio on IMDB she was born as Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone in August 1958 in Bay City, Michigan. She moved to New York in the late 1970s and studied with established choreographer Alvin Ailey, joined up with the Patrick Hernandez Revue, formed a dance band called “Breakfast Club” and began working with boyfriend Stephen Bray on recording several disco songs.

New York producer/D.J. Mark Kamins passed her demo tapes to Sire Records in early 1982 and the rest is history. The 1980s was Madonna’s decade, and she dominated the music lists with a succession of multimillion-selling albums, and her musical and fashion influence on young women exploded around the globe.

Her ex-husband, Sean Penn, once said about their marriage:

“I met her on the shoot of that video [“Material Girl”]. Madonna had done “Like a Virgin”, so she was a phenom, but nothing could have told anybody what would happen next. I describe that marriage as loud. That’s how I remember it. And frankly, I don’t recall having a single conversation in four years of marriage. I’ve talked to her a couple of times since, and there’s a whole person there. I just didn’t know it.”

In 2004, he received the John Steinbeck award at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The award is given out by the San Francisco Chronicle and benefits San Jose State University.

And he’s also a Justin Timberlake fan.
