Leonard Nimoy Dies At The Age of 83

Premiere Of Paramount Pictures' "Star Trek Into Darkness" - Arrivals

It has been a few days since we brought you the news that Leonard Nimoy, legendary actor who so marvelously portrayed Dr. Spock on the original Star Trek, was hospitalized due to chest pains. Today, we are coming to you with even sadder news that the 83-year-old actor has died.

Nimoy died in his home in the Bel Air, Los Angeles on Friday morning and it was his wife Susan Bay who broke the news to the press. She added that the cause of death was the end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which Nimoy suffered from for years.

Nimoy is most famous for his unimitable portrayal of Dr. Spock, whose sense of justice and love of truth Nimoy tried to adhere to in his own life as well.

Perhaps it is fiting to leave you with the last Tweet of Nimoy’s dating back to February 22nd, “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP”
