Sofia Vergara, Colombia’s jewel, participated in a segment during the prize giving event on Monday, August 25, where she was just standing and looking beautiful on a pedestal, which had some viewers screaming about sexism. This practice was criticized on social media websites and even considered objectification of women and open sexism.
“’Modern Family’ wins every award it’s ever nominated for but apparently that’s not enough for Sofia Vergara to be treated as more than a prop,” a Twitter user wrote.
