In a movie revolving around the rise and fall of the hip hop group N.W.A, much has been covered regarding their music and tales about their tough life in the hood. Despite receiving fairly positive reviews for both the way the story was handled and the production, there are people who are furious over the fact that content regarding Dre and his abusive nature towards women has been completely omitted.

The R&B singer Michel’le noted how she wasn’t featured in the movie, saying: “Why would Dre put me in it? I was just a quiet girlfriend who got beat up and told to sit down and shut up.” She was in a relationship with Dre from 1990 to 1996 and it seems it wasn’t the perfect love story.

Journalist Dee Barnes was kicked and punched by Dre at a record-release party, and has written for Gawker about the incident (seeing as how it also wasn’t mentioned in the movie). Although she agrees that the story shouldn’t have been covered in the movie, it should’ve at least been mentioned. She adds that the incident with Dre ended her career and that she was instantly blacklisted.

Dre has recently spoken to Rolling Stone about the incidents and other accusations – he admits to having made mistakes but claims how he “paid for those mistakes,” and that he doesn’t feel that they should be reflected on any further.
