It has finally happened. After 33 years and more than 6,000 broadcasts, David Letterman did his final show last night, marking an end of an era for the Late Show and TV in general.

Letterman announced his retirement plans earlier this year, stating that he wants to spend more time with his family. It was later announced that Steven Colbert will take his place as the host.

Over the years, Letterman has changed the way we see late night shows and he has pretty much made the careers of innumerable comedians. Some of them joined him for his last show. Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Tina Fey, Julie Louis-Dreyfus, Steve Martin, Barbara Walters, Alec Baldwin, Jim Carrey were just some of the guests on last night’s show.

We wish Dave all the best in his retirement and we thank him for the last three decades of top-notch late night television.
