The untimely death of Prince, one of the most legendary musicians ever, has marked 2016 as one of the saddest years in music history. The world hasn’t yet recovered from the tragic loss of music icon David Bowie and now we are having to come to terms that Prince too has passed.

Prince Rogers Nelson, internationally known as Prince, died yesterday at his studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Currently, no one knows what really happened, but an autopsy should uncover the cause of his death.

Prince’s death started an avalanche of heartbreaking messages on social media, with celebrities and fans sharing their feelings and paying tribute to the singer, guitarist, and songwriter.

His death comes just three months after David Bowie left us. Unfortunately, they are not the only stars to have passed away in the previous few months. This year started with the deaths of Natalie King Cole and Glenn Frey from the Eagles. Then Maurice White from Earth, Wind & Fire passed away, followed by country music legend Merle Haggard.

If 2016 continues like this, no one will live to see 2017.
