Now check this – James Lipton was actually a pimp. Boom. You might know him as the American writer, composer, actor and dean emeritus of the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York City.
Or you might know him as the executive producer, writer and host of the Bravo cable television series Inside the Actors Studio. Remember him how you will, he’s phenomenal in all aspects of his life; but he was obviously phenomenal with the ladies as well.
Around something like the 50s, Lipton was in France, a young and poor American boy living in Paris, hoping to pursue a career as a lawyer. One night he was approached by two younger women who asked him if he wanted to watch them make love. Do we even have to say what his response was? Didn’t think so.
Anyhow, he became friends with one of the two ladies, who later on offered him as job as a pimp. Although he consideres the term derogatory, and prefers to use the word maquereau, a simple Google search will tell you that maquereau is pretty much a French colloquial term for a pimp. Smooooth.
