Vickie Lynn Hogan or Anna Nicole Smith as she is known to the public, was a model, actress, and television personality who first gained popularity in Playboy, winning the 1993 Playmate of the Year.

Vickie Lynn Hogan was born in Houston, Texas but raised in Mexia, Texas along with five half siblings and her half-sister Donna Hogan,,by her mother and aunt.

She dropped out of high school at age 15 and was married three years later, in 1985 to a Billy Wayne Smith, who was a cook at the restaurant. He was sixteen years old and Nicole was seventeen.

After this marriage she moved a lot and worked at many places, but the events that we’re interested in started to unfold in 1991.

While performing at Gigi’s, a Houston strip club (later renamed as “Pleasures”) in October 1991, Smith met elderly oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, and they began a relationship.

Remember that all this time she is still married to her husband Billy Smith. She divorced him on February 3, 1993, in Houston and only one year later On June 27, 1994, twenty-six-year-old Smith and eighty-nine-year-old Marshall were married also in Houston.

Fourteen months after his marriage to Smith, Marshall died in Houston at age ninety, on August 4, 1995, leaving his immense wealth up for grabs.

In case you were wondering just how rich Marshall was here’s a neat figure: US$1.6 billion.

The legal process after his death lasted full sixteen years, and Nicole didn’t see the end of it as she died of a drug overdose in 2007.
