The nominations for the Golden Globes are in, and there really aren’t many surprises. Everyone was expecting Todd Haynes’ “Carol” to do really well in the nominations, and that’s exactly what happened.
The drama received five total nominations. Two actors from “Carol” were nominated for awards, Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. The movie was also nominated for Best Drama and Best Score as well.
One of the most interest things we see in these nominations is the way in which “The Martian” was categorized. The movie, which stars Matt Damon, is a space drama, but it’s actually funny too. Apparently, some thought it was really funny since it is nominated in the Best Comedy Category. Not only that, it was nominated as a Musical as well.
All in all, “Carol” has the most nominations, with five. Trailing are “The Big Short,” “Steve Jobs” and “The Revenant,” which all have four each.
