8. George Lucas and Mellody Hobson

Well, George Lucas is the father of the space opera franchise ‘’Star Wars’’ and the creator of Indiana Jones. He is one of the best movie directors of our time and also one of the most financially successful ones. He received four Academy Award nominations during his career.

Mellody Hobson is an American businesswoman who met Lucas at a business conference in 2006. They started dating the same year.

Hobson stated in an interview that their relationship is successful because they are both aware of the age difference between them. Lucas is currently 70 years old and his wife is 25 years younger.

Hobson added that they are both open-minded and stressed that they let go of any ‘’preconceived ideas about what a partner should be.’’

Lucas proposed in 2013 and the pair got married on June 22, 2013 at Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch. The ceremony was officiated by journalist Bill Moyers. “It only takes one person to have met the love of your life,” said Moyers. Moyers went on to quote the Persian poet Rumi: “When I heard my first love story, I was thinking of you.”

And judging by all the facts, their love story is indeed a wonderful one. Just one week after they exchanged their vows, Lucas and Hobson organized a wedding celebration in Chicago.

Lucas and his wife got their first biological child Everest in August 2013. The baby was born via surrogacy.

The renowned filmmaker has three adopted children, Amanda, Katie and Jett. He adopted his eldest daughter when he was married to his first wife and he adopted the other two girls as a single dad.
