Elton John’s Campaign Against Dolce And Gabbana Backfires

Italian senator Roberto Formigoni said that Elton John is a “gay Taliban” in response to his campaign against Dolce and Gabbana.
Since the singer announced that he is boycotting the fashion designers reactions have been varied.
Formigioni called the boycott a “shameful and intolerable” act, saying that he will still support the brand. He further added that he thinks that their statement was courageous and that it shows freedom of expression. In a more radical statement, joined by politician Carlo Giovanardi he said that Elton John was using same methods against the designers, as Taliban used against Charlie Hebdo.
In his view Dolce and Gabbana were only saying that “every child had a right to both a mother, and a father.”
