Israeli Model Bar Refaeli Accused Of Tax Evasion

Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli is under investigation by police in her home country over suspicion that she evaded local tax on earnings from her career in modelling.
Her lawyers are rejecting all accusations, despite media reports that the model is worth up to $20 million. According to her lawyers, the case is centered on a dispute with Israeli authorities over whether the model should be regarded a resident of Israel when it comes to tax purposes.
Israel’s tax authority claims that Rafaeli failed to report her “celebrity benefits,” such as the Lexus and Range Rover she received from the car companies in exchange for publishing photos of herself with the cars. It was also reported that she refused to pay taxes on her luxury apartment located in Tel Aviv.
