Daughter of famous comedian Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers, took the time to inform the public about her mother’s condition, issuing a new statement to Huffington Post.
After Joan Rivers stopped breathing during a routine throat surgery, she has been on life support, surrounded by her nearest and dearest who are hoping for her recovery.
Her 46-year-old daughter confirmed that her mother’s condition has remained unchanged and that she is still on life support.
“On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received. At this time, she does remain on life support. I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness, and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”
Before being hospitalized, the 81-year-old comedian was promoting her new book, “Diary of a Mad Diva.”
