Pop star Justin Bieber was detained upon his return from Japan on Thursday, April 24 when he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport.

His Singapore Air flight arrived at Lax at just after 1pm, but his bodyguards were still waiting for the star to pass through customs at 4pm.

The reason for this are still not clear, but it may have something to do with a petition to deport the star for his bad behavior.

The official word from the White House said, “We’ll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber’s case, but we’re glad you care about immigration issues. Because our current system is broken. Too many employers game the system by hiring undocumented workers, and 11 million people are living in the shadows.”

After holding him for five hours, Justin was allowed to enter the U.S.

Around 6.20pm, the Canadian star was released and allowed to leave. He was awaited by four members of his security team.

It is still not confirmed why Bieber was held at the airport, but one source told Us Weekly,It was a routine secondary set of questioning that Justin has to go through now every time he comes back in the country because he’s a foreign national.”

He later took to Twitter.com to make sure his fans know he is doing well after the hold-up. He said, “Life is good. Keep it positive always.”
