Comedian Seth Meyers is set to host 2014 Emmy Awards this summer. This came just months after his own U.S. late night talk show kicked off. The former Saturday Night Live star now has more reasons to celebrate as he was the chosen one on Thursday, April 24 to host the annual television Prize giving ceremony.

This will be his first time to serve as a presenter at Emmys, but not the first time to host such an event. In 2010 and 2011 he was hosting the ESPY Awards, and the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner.

Seth, who was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people on Thursday morning, will follow his fellow comedians and also former Late Night presenters Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien, who have all previously hosted the Emmys.

A statement released by the network’s president of late night and alternative programming, Paul Telegdy, read, “Seth’s expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at ‘SNL,’ as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera on ‘SNL’ and ‘Late Night,’ makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys.”

Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother had the honor on CBS in 2013 and in 2009. Another late-night host, Jimmy Kimmel, hosted on ABC in 2012, and Glee’s Jane Lynch led Fox’s 2011 ceremony.

The 66th Primetime Emmys will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on August 25.
