There is one thing that you cannot say about the Super Bowl Halftime show this Sunday – that it was unmemorable. You may be super pleased with it or you may think that it was stupid as hell, but you do have an opinion.
Katy Perry entered the stage in style (or absence of style, depending on how you look at it) straddling a giant metallic tiger or lion or whatever. She performed her hit Roar and she was then joined on the stage by Lenny Kravitz, a guy who still gets gigs for some reason.
Lenny did his best rockstar impersonation while he and Katy performed I Kissed A Girl. It was an exciting and energized performance. Katy then performed Teenage Dream and California Gurls joined by a very psychedelic entourage of dancing sharks, beach balls and palm trees.
Katy was then joined by Missy Eliot on stage for what many call the highlight of the show, their joined performance of Get Ur Freak On. They also performed Lose Control together and Katy wrapped it all up with a rendering of Firework.
All in all, it was a halftime show that everyone is talking about and for good reasons.
