Lady Gaga Could Be Banned From China After Dalai Lama Meeting

We already know that China does not think too highly of the Dalai Lama. On the other hand, they are huge fans of Lady Gaga.

But that might be changing soon. Sure, the celebrity pop singer has a huge fan base in the country, but after meeting with the Dalai Lama on Sunday, there has been a lot of backlash coming her way.

Namely, the pop star talked to the Tibetan spiritual leader and their meeting was live-streamed, meaning hundreds of thousands of people saw the event. Now, China has a very firm stance on anything related to the Dalai Lama. They believe that all of his public appearances are orchestrated with one goal in mind – to promote Tibetan independence from China.

And it seems that many Chinese Gaga fans agree. There were many people on Chinese social media sites this week that were very upset with Gaga, saying that she betrayed her Chinese fans by promoting the Dalai Lama.

We’ll have to wait and see if there will be any further repercussions. There’s a good chance that China will ban the star from performing in the country. Remember, Selena Gomez had to cancel a few Chinese shows recently after taking a picture with the Dalai Lama.
