Mel Gibson’s Battery Charge Erased From His Record

The Braveheart star’s record is completely clear again! Gibson received a battery conviction after slapping his ex girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and it is reported that the conviction is erased from his record.

He was sentenced to 16 hours of community service and 52 weeks of counseling after pleading no contest to striking his former partner in 2011.

Additionally, he got three years in probation. After his probation period ended earlier this year, Gibson filed an application to have the charge deleted from his record. According to TMZ, Gibson’s request was granted and his record is officially clear!

Oksana and Mel split up in 2010 and during the custody battle for their daughter Lucia, Oksana accused the famous actor of hitting her during a fight.

However, Gibson stated that he hit her only because he thought she was hurting their child. “I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality,”Gibson said at the time. “I did not slap her hard. I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back and forth.”

Oksana Grigorieva is a Russian pianist and singer/songwriter who gained worldwide attention after her widely publicized break-up with Lethal Weapon star Mel Gibson.
