Superstar Rihanna has been accused of mocking and cyber-bullying a teenage fan. It appears she mocked the young fan for recreating a winged outfit she sported at a music prizegiving in 2010. The young fan recreated the clothes for her prom.
Alexis Carter, a 16-year old fan from Baltimore, Maryland, was inspired by the Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit the R&B star wore at the 20120 Echo Music Awards in Germany. Her family friend helped her recreate the suit for her Hollywood-themed school dance.
The proud teen then posted pictures of herself wearing the black one-piece online. However, the reception wasn’t as she expected. She posted the photos on her Twitter.com and Instagram.com pages, and received some very negative comments.
What upset the teenager most was the comment from the star herself. It seems like Rihanna laughed at her efforts to look like her favorite celebrity.
Rihanna posted a side-by-side shot comparing the red carpet outfit to her own, alongside a caption which featured only a sad face.
In her later tweet, Rihanna compared the outfit Alexis wore on the pictures with the Wu-Tang Clan’s logo.
The disappointed teenager told Fox News in Baltimore, “I was very offended. Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was (sic) different but the outfit wasn’t. She doesn’t love her fans like she says she does.”
