Nicki Minaj Will Actually Open The 2015 VMAs
It appears that all is forgiven – we are, of course, referring to the series of angry tweets Nicki Minaj posted regarding the nominees for this year’s VMAs. Minaj was infuriated by the choices and claimed how her song Anaconda could’ve easily been nominated if she were a different kind of artist.
One of the tweets read:
“If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”
Her tweets raised some serious questions about race and body image in the current pop music scene, and it even stretched onto a beef between her and Taylor Swift, who later apologized to Minaj, claiming that she misunderstood her way of thinking and misspoke about it publicly.
But it seems that all that is irrelevant now – since Nicki has been invited to join the stage of Sunday’s VMAs alongside some of the biggest names in showbiz like Pharrell Williams, Demi Lovato, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, ASAP Rocky and others.
And it looks like she’s enjoying herself on the VMA rehearsals, as apparent by her recent tweet.
