Rafael Nadal, a tennis superstar, was born and raised in a Catholic family. Though you might expect to hear that he is a believer, that is simply not the case.
Nadal apparently spent a lot of time pondering on the issue at hand, and concluded that religion is the cause of some of the greatest atrocities in history, which is a bit too much for this athlete.
Despite many athletes crossing themselves and thanking God after they win a big game, Rafa does not follow suit, since he believes that God, if there actually is one, is a smart enough guy not to pay attention to such trivial things. And he seems to be doing the right thing since he relies on his skill rather than on the man upstairs to win matches.
