Chris Brown’s bodyguard has been convicted of assault relating to a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel in October 2013.

District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Patricia Wynn delivered a verdict against the bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, on Monday morning, April 21. Prior to the verdict, there was a two-day trial, which ended on Friday, April 18.

Hollosy and Brown were both accused of hitting 20-year old Parker Adams in the face. Adams allegedly approached the star with two female friends and asked to take part in their photo.

Brown reportedly hit Damas first, while he claimed Hollosy broke his nose.

The bodyguard said he attacked Adams after he tried to get into their tour bus. Judge Wynn, however, declared his action were ’not justified’ and she stated neither of them were under attack.

She ruled, “Mr. Brown did not have a right of self-defence.”

The bodyguard will be sentenced on June 25, and the singer’s trial for his assault charge began right after the judge delivered the verdict.

However, it was delayed for Wednesday, April 23, after his lawyers asked for a continuance.

Singer Brown is facing up to six months in prison and a $1,000 (£625) fine if convicted. If the ruling is deemed a violation of his probation relating to a 2009 assault on his ex-girlfriend, he could be facing another four years of prison.

He spent some time in jail after he has been dismissed from a rehab clinic in California. He was hospitalized to seek court-ordered anger management in March.
