A little-known fact to most people is that Leonardo DiCaprio was almost cast as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. So why didn’t he take the role?
Well, according to DiCaprio himself, he almost took up Lucas on his offer to play the protagonist. However, the actor stated in an interview that he just “didn’t feel ready to take that dive,” so the role eventually went to Hayden Christensen.
But this is not the only famous role this 41-year-old actor ended up turning down. Among others were Robin in Batman Forever and Peter Parker in Spider-Man. However, he claims that he’s more than willing to play such roles in the future, and says that he feels very lucky just to have been given a chance in this industry.
