Iggy Azalea Is The Lead Nominee At AMA

Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea is the lead nominee at the American Music Awards.

Dick Clark productions announced on Monday, October 13 that the star is up for six awards at the November 23 event at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

Her nominations include artist, new artist and single of the year for her No.1 hit “Fancy.”

John LegendKaty Perry and Pharrell Williams have five nominations each, while Lorde is up for four honors at the fan-voted gala. Those acts are all nominated for artist of the year, competing with Beyoncé, Luke Bryan, Eminem, Imagine Dragons and One Direction.

The 10 nominees will downsize to five of them after calculating fan votes received through November 13.

“Boom Clap” singer Charli XCX will perform at the 2014 AMAs, which will be aired live on ABC.
