Would you ever have heard about Kendall Jenner if not for her famous family? We neither.

But Kendall is now claiming that her family was a obstacle in her career.

She just landed another editorial, this time for the upcoming issue of V magazine. In the summer 2014 issue of V she actually complained that her famous family stopped her from getting any work.

“You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults were either initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back. It was kind of hard because all I was doing was going on go-sees, trying my best to break into this business as a teenager. I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand, who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity. My parents taught me that work ethic is one of the most important keys in life, and I believe it.”

All the names she mentioned in the interview have certainly helped her but the question remains if those people would ever hear about her if she wasn’t who she is.

However, to be honest, it hasn’t always been easy for her. Other models have reportedly put cigarettes out in her drink during NYFW, and blasted her for using her last name to become successful. She has handled these situations with humor, and continues to win by landing jobs, including a campaign with Calvin Klein.
