While trying to prank call media mogul Oprah Winfrey, troubled star Lindsay Lohan was left fighting tears as Oprah and Letterman talked about her on the phone.
Oprah even stated how she’s proud of the young star for making significant progress. Lohan was visiting the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday, April 7, and while there, offered to share contact details of Oprah with David. The plan was to surprise the mogul on air.
She said, “I think maybe I should just call her right now. Should we call Oprah? I think so. Do you have a phone? Have we got a phone?”
Doubtful at first, David agreed to prank call Winfrey and decided to pose as Lohan’s personal assistant.
He started, “Yes, can I speak to Oprah Winfrey please? Hi, this is, uh, Lindsay Lohan’s secretary.”
When Oprah asked, “Who is this?” Letterman finally confessed, “It’s Dave, Oprah. It’s Dave.”
Then he asked Winfrey what she thinks about Lohan’s welfare after completing a court-ordered rehabilitation in 2013, and filming her own self-titled show which airs on Winfrey’s OWN and is produced by it.
She said, “I think she’s doing OK… I think she’s doing really OK. I think to have cameras following you around for every phase of your life and you’re trying to pull your life together, I think that’s a really difficult thing.”
“We’re really pleased that she’s making some progress.” Lindsay was left wiping tears and smiling. The interview is scheduled for airing on April 9.
