Michelle Obama Recruits Pop Stars For The Coolest All-Female Anthem Ever

1

You may not have realized this, but Michelle Obama is, without a doubt, one of the coolest First Ladies in U.S. history. And just when we thought that she couldn’t get any cooler, bam!

She is about to have her own anthem, which features celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, and Janelle Monae. These stars have taken upon themselves to write “This is For My Girls,” a song inspired by the Obamas’ Let Girls Learn initiative, which focuses on the whopping 62 million women around the globe who don’t have access to education.

The all-female anthem was written by Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren and produced by AOL MAKERS. It also features Kelly Rowland, Missy Elliott, and Lea Michelle, as well as YouTube sensations Chloe & Halle, and singer Jadagrace. The song is meant to raise awareness and inspire people to lend their support to the empowerment of women around the world.

19-year old Zendaya definitely didn’t hide her enthusiasm when she recently opened up about the matter, saying:

I was like, ‘Is this real life? It’s not a normal email or normal phone call. It’s like, ‘Hey, this is the White House.’ Like, whoa.

“This is For My Girls” is downloadable on iTunes, and all the proceeds will be donated in support of the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund.
