It’s not the first time we see somebody young and perspective find themselves in all kinds of trouble with the law after seeing their career skyrocket. Christian Slater is no exception, as he received his first legal penalty in 1989 – he was sentenced to 10 days in jail for drunk driving and assault. If it had stopped there, it would’ve been OK, but it simply didn’t.
In 1994, Slater tried to board a commercial plane while carrying a gun in his luggage, for which he was sentenced to community service. In 1997, he was convicted after assaulting his then-girlfriend Michelle Jonas and a police officer. He was also under the influence of both alcohol and drugs at the time, spending over 100 days in a rehab facility afterward. And who can forget the case in May 2005 when he was arrested in Manhattan, New York, for sexually harassing a woman on the street in broad daylight. How do you even end up doing something like that?
